St Margaret’s Young Enterprise team 'Boing! Enterprise’ is a registered company which was set up in August 2006 and consists of eight 6th year pupils. After fantastic sales of their limited edition band badges, the team decided to try their hand at filmmaking. To date ‘Boing!’ has produced 2 DVDs, the charity concert and the Christmas concert. Both of these DVDs are on sale now. The success of these DVDs has inspired the ‘Boing!’ team to bring back a tradition that had been lost at St Margaret’s Academy… the 6th year video yearbook.
The ‘Boing!’ team has been gathering together on film, a collection of memorable moments from their last year at school and have planned a number of comical stunts to perform for the amusement of teachers and other 6th year pupils. Previous examples include when the team surprised the 6th year pupils before Christmas with a Big Brother style diary room complete with a huge, purple fluffy chair, in which they could reminisce about the past 6 years at high school in front of a camera. Ross Hand performed also performed his legendary ‘Partyboy’ dance with help from Mr McPartlin.
‘Boing!’ has many more antics planned for later on in the year. As well as clips form 6th year students causing havoc in and out of school, the DVD will contain footage from the Christmas concert, the football charity match between teachers and 6th year boys and their last day of school.
However, it is not all fun and games for the members of ‘Boing!’ They are sitting a Strathclyde University business exam and are competing for Young enterprise’s best company award by producing a business report and giving a presentation at Napier University.
The ‘Boing! Enterprise’ team looks forward to the highly anticipated release of the video yearbook and hope that it will be enjoyed by students, parents and teachers for many years to come. The DVD will be on sale at the end of March and copies will be delivered to all customers at prom. ‘Boing! Enterprise’ wishes to than Mr Toal, Miss Quinn, Mr Dixon, Mrs Crossthwaite and Mr Stewart for their much appreciated help during the running of this company. All that’s left to say is ’Have you got your Boing! yet?’
